King set for permanent switch

King had a poor time of it with the Latics but has already scored two goals for the Tigers this season. A fee was agreed before the closure of the transfer window, but King was stalling over severance pay from the Latics.

This led to a short term loan deal being agreed, bying time for the respective parties. It now appears that the former Nottingham Forest and Watford forward is willing to waive this money because he is enjoying his football with Hull.

King said: "I've only got to prove myself right that I'm good enough to be here. It took me a while to get my first for Wigan and people will say it didn't work out for me there.

"I didn't get as many as I'd like last season, and I'm sure a few didn't, but when you've got to stay in the Premier League, you do things that are foreign to you like defending.

"I'm not making excuses, but now I'm at Hull and I'm delighted to be here and playing Premier League football regularly."
