Kiernan praise from Rosler

The 22 year old was recalled from his loan spell with Southend United on the eve of the fixture with Burnley.

Kiernan came on as a second half substitute for former Burnley player Chris McCann and operated as an anchor man in front of the back line.

Naturally a centre back, Kiernan can operate in midfield, and he showed some classy touches despite his short spell on the pitch.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post Rosler said: "Rob played in that trole for me at Brentford, so I had total confidence in his ability to fit in there and he did very well.

"I know what he can do and th potential he has, and I'm looking forward to working with him again at Wigan Athletic."

The other recalled loanee, Nouha Dicko, didn't get a first team opportunity. However the youthful Frenchman's chance cannot be too far away after he was recalled from a loan spell with Rotherham where six goals in five games turned more than a few heads.
