Jewell wants fans Patience

After the Latics failed to take all three points at home to Watford, and after a limp second half performance, Jewells troops were booed from the field by a selection of the home fans.

Saturdays draw left Wigan with five points from their opening five games, and Jewell admitted his team were under par. Despite his teams poor start, Jewell has asked that the Wigan Athletic boo boys to give his overhauled side more time.

Jewell told the Wigan evening Post: "I don't think any of our palyers played anywhere near their potential (against Watford), but we still gota point from the game."

"I wasn't happy with that and, don't get me wrong, I had my say in the dressing room afterwards about it. But we're five games into the season - we've had two of those at home and are unbeaten at the JJB."

"I think it is taking time for the side to settle. It's not going to all come right overnight because we have a lot of new players in there."

Heres hoping for an improved performance this coming Sunday, away at Blackburn Rovers.
