Jewell: I'm optimistic the lad will come here

"We're in for a player from a Premiership club and everything was agreed on Tuesday to get him here this morning. However, the club have now had a change of heart and are keeping hold of him for the time being. This is maybe to see whether they can get someone else in in his position so we'll have to see what happens in the couple of days up to the deadline," commented Jewell.

"With a bit of luck this will only be a temporary change of heart and then we'll be able to go back in for him next week. I'm not willing to name names of his club but I'm fairly optimistic that the lad will come here if the club give us permission to speak to him. As I said, we'll wait and see how things pan out but we are still looking to strengthen, that's well documented."
