Jewell happy to settle for a loan deal

Jewell spoke to the clubs official site this morning from the clubs training ground at Christopher Park, he said: "I've made an enquiry about a player this morning by talking to his manager and I'm now waiting for the manager to come back to let me know whether it's possible or not.

"Our search is continuing and that is the latest development and we'll see if this brings us any joy.

"We made the bid for Jason Roberts last week and West Brom told us that we hadn't met their valuation. They haven't told us this yet so it's difficult to move forward at the present time.

"We're examining all our options and no-one's more frustrated than me that we haven't brought anyone in. The loan option is the one we're looking at at the moment and hopefully we'll get some good news in teh very near future.

"I have to say that I am delighted with the players I've got here though and that I thought they were excellent on Saturday. We need additions in terms of numbers and quality though and that's what we continue to work on."

Nice to see the boss is in the transfer market, and judging from what he has said above, a new arrival may not be too far away.
