The Latics boss suggests that such a decision should be placed in the hands of the FA and not the clubs themselves.
Jewell said: "I think that is an outrageous decision! Leeds play their games on a Tuesday and we asked to play on Wednesday and they said 'no', but I don't think that should be their decision, it should be an F.A. decision.
"It's quite clearly an unfair advantage to Leeds, I don't care what anybody says. I don't blame them in a way for taking that advantage, but I do blame the powers that be , they should say they play on a Wednesday.
"I would love to know that if we were Manchester United, or Chelsea, or Arsenal whether we would be playing on Tuesday. I guess not!"
