Jarrett off to Norwich

Jason Jarrett: Norwich Bound
The 25 year old has turned down the opportunity of Premiership football with the Latics.

Just today, he told a local newspaper: "Wigan have come back to me twice with an improved offer but nothing has been decided yet.

"I'd love to be part of the Wigan squad in the Premier League, but the deal has to be right and I've got to do what is best for myself and my family because this is a crucial decision in my life.

"I've the most important years of my career ahead, but whether that is with Wigan or elsewhere I just don't know yet.

"There are other clubs interested but I want to stay with Wigan if possible.

"I'm due to talk with the club again this week and my future should be decided one way or the other by Sunday."

Whilst Jewell told the same paper: "Jason is a smashing lad who has done a good job here.

"He had a difficult time last season but came back strongly and had the best game for Wigan against Reading on the final day when we went up."

However, it has turned out that the step down to Norwich was a better option.
He will join the Canaries on a bosman-style free transfer after his contract expires on June 30th.

Norwich boss Nigel Worthington has yet to comment on the completed move and the contract length has yet to be released.

It is a shame that JJ will not be joining the Latics in the Premiership and many Latics fans will be sad to see him go.

We still wish him all the best for his future at Norwich, but he may well regret turning down the Premiership should he never make it with Norwich.
