Jarrett joins Stoke on loan

Jewell explained that the young midfielder has only been loaned out so he can get matches under his belt and try to reach match fitness, as he was not getting the games at the JJB.

Jason Jarrett
Bullard, Mahon, Flynn and Whalley are all above Jarrett in the current pecking order and this is a good opportunity for the hard working midfielder to prove he can still do it to Jewell after his broken leg at Leigh RMI in pre-season.

The deal is for one month and that runs out two days before th Latics face Stoke at the JJB, and so surely will not be renewed, allowing Jarrett to face the Latics in derby match on 5th February.

Jewell said: "Jason needs to get some games under his belt and this move gives him that chance. He's done well since coming back from his injury but at the moment we have plenty of midfield options and therefore his chances have been a bit limited. This loan spell will be far better for him than playing reserve team matches here and I feel that it is only fair to give him this chance."

Jarrett, could make his debut for the Potters in their F.A. Cup clash with Arsenal this weekend.
