The Latics number two has received a number of offers recently and wants another crack at the top job before his days are over. However Hutchings is in no hurry and is enjoying being a big part of Wigan's success story.
He said: "I have been approached. One or two people have asked whether I would be interested in moving, but I've said no. I am happy at Wigan.
"I know I want to be a boss again, but I am quite happy to be where I am at this moment in time. If you are successful, why move and break things up?
"If the right opportunity comes along, great, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. I'm not too worried about it.
"I have been approached. One or two people have asked whether I would be interested in moving, but I've said no. I am happy at Wigan.
"That's testament to the bond Paul and I have, and to the success we have got here."
