Hutchings Confirms Heskey interest

It has been widely reported that Wigan have been interested in Heskey, and so Hutchings revelation will not have come as a huge surprise. It was already widely speculated that Wigan had an offer of Roberts plus £500,000 rejected just a week ago.

Speaking to the Wigan evening post, Hutchings discussed Heskey as well as giving an update on transfer activity: "We are interested in Heskey, but so are other clubs, and we're always on the look out for better players."

"You'll find that the players we are interested in are also interesting clubs like Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Everton, Charlton - we have moved up a notch in the transfer market."

Hutchings also shed some light on the Chris Kirkland transfer: "Hopefully we will have Chris (Kirkland) in from Liverpool on a year's loan, John Benson said Liverpool were due to get back in touch."
