Hutchings confirms Brunt interest

Chris Brunt: Liam look-a-like?
The 22 year old was an integral part of Wednesday's line-up last term and managed to score eleven goals.

Hutchings told the Wigan Observer: "We're building a young side. Look at the likes of Tottenham - they've got all the young, top players. This will take two or three years, it won't happen overnight.

"We're trying to get better players here than the ones we had last year. Titus Bramble has signed for three years so that shows the confidence he has in us as well. We're looking to get four or five more in. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

"Signings don't happen overnight, it can take four or five weeks sometimes. Players are away on holiday now and they want to think about things. Chris Brunt is a possibility, but I am not saying yes or no.

"We can compete with the likes of Aston Villa and Middlesbrough - the teams in the middle band. There have been one or two players who I've watched and like and some who Paul Jewell watched who I didn't think would do the job."
