Hutch goes Dutch

Rachid was in Wigan yesterday to agree personal terms and pass a medical, before flying out to Holland. He is expected back in Wigan tomorrow morning, when he will train with his new team-mates for the first time.

With a reputation as a dangerous, speedy winger, he is deffinately something Wigan have been missing on the wing. He has been at Sparta since the age of ten and has made 71 appearances, scoring five goals.

His new manager gave current Dutch stars Denny Landzaat and Mario Melchiot praise for playing a major role in persuading their fellow countryman to join them at Wigan.

Hutch said: "It's very useful to have a couple of Dutch lads here already, and they came in on their day off to speak to Rachid to us, which i was very grateful for.

"He's very quick, has two good feet and can play on either wing. He has come highly recommended by several sources and as soon as we heard he was available, we were very keen to get him on board."

Next week we reveal how to pronounce his surname.
