Hibs left back David Murphy (in green)
Twenty-three year old Murphy is contacting to the SPL club until 2010 after starting his career with Middlesbrough.

Current Hibs manager John Collins is reluctant to see his best players leave. He said: "He is a quality footballer and I am sure that there will come a time when we receive an offer that we can't refuse.

"We have got to be realistic. I could say that David Murphy is going nowhere but we all know that is not the case.

"The lad comes from England and has always said that he would like to go back there eventually.

"He is an ambitious boy and wants to play at the highest level possible and I can understand that."

Unfortunately Willam McKay is the players agent and we all know how he likes to manufacture a deal.

In other transfer news, it is rumoured that former striker Jason Roberts is on the market with Saturday's opponents Blackburn deeming the Grenadan striker to be surpluss to requirements.

A reunion would be more than welcome for Wigan supporters with Roberts still a firm favourite among Latics faithful.
