The deal should be completed later today after Henchoz passes a medical and both parties have agreed a contract.
Paul Jewell has been quoted as saying: "We've agreed a deal in principle with Stephane. Hopefully we'll have it wrapped up in the next 24 hours."
Henchoz will bring much needed Premiership experience to the Wigan back line and will be a much under-rated signing should he put pen to paper.
