Granqvist and Aghahowa set for loan switch

Since the addition of Erik Hagen and the move of Paul Scharner to centre back, Granqvist has found a place in the first eleven hard to come by, whilst striker Aghahowa has struggled to settle and the recent addition of Marlon King has pushed him further down the pecking order.

Steve Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "We've had a couple of enquiries about Andreas, and now I've brought in Erik Hagen, we're in a position to let him go out. He has a big future here, but a bit of experience of playing somewhere else can only benefit him."

Carlo Nash has already agreed his loan move to Stoke, and despite the Potteries club also having just loaned Chris Riggott from Middlesbrough, they are said to be keen on Granqvist.

Meanwhile Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Nigerian striker Julius Aghahowa.
