Graham and Ridgewell set for loan moves

Malky Mackay stated earlier this week that he hoped to add two new faces to his squad for the weekend's game with Birmingham City.

Sunderland striker Danny Graham is being linked with a six month loan move until the end of the season.

The 29 year old striker was signed by Mackay at Watford back in 2008 for £350,000 before being sold two years later for £3.5m.

He has found opportunities with Sunderland difficult to come by after moving from Swansea for £5m last summer.

The move is seen as a good opportunity for Graham to re-find his goalscoring boots after only five appearances during a loan spell with Wolves for the first half of this season.

Defender Ridgewell meanwhile is being linked with a loan move until the end of February.

Mackay has made no secret his desire to add a defender to his squad to sure up a back line that has leaked goals this season and former Birmingham and West Brom defender Ridgewell fits ths bill.

The 30 year old is currently contracted to Portland Timbers in the MLS and so a loan move would need to expire before the start of the MLS season in March.

There has been no official word on either transfer but rumours are strong that Mackay hopes to have both moves completed in time for the weekend's game with Birmingham City.
