Goal Hero Keeps Level Head

Two goals in three games has certainly made Watson an early favourite with the fans and with the club only parting £1.5m for him, it looks as though it has been money well spent. Watson has now spoken of calm ahead of the final rush of games and with the club hunting what should be a third and final European spot, Watson believes the policy of 'taking one game at a time' should be fixing into the squads mindset.

The push for 7th will not be easy, Manchester City, Tottenham, West Ham and Fulham should be considered as rivals for the last spot with Aston Villa, Everton and at a push, Arsenal all almost certainties for the other two places.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Watson stated "The club is in a fantastic position seventh in the league with eight games to go, you can't ask for much more than that

"But we are not thinking of Europe, it has not been mentioned. The main thing was to stay in the league and now we take it one game at a time.

"The last two games (against Sunderland and Hull) were massive. We thought if we could get maximum points out of them it would put a gap between us and the relegation zone and that is what we have done.

"Our next two games are Everton and Arsenal. No disrespect to Sunderland or Hull but it is going to be tougher to get points off them."

A finish in the top half would be magnificent with the Premier League being so tight this year and if Europe beckons, this would be one of, if not, the greatest moment in the clubs history.
