Francis rejects Stoke Move

The Potters held hopes of tempting the Jamaican midfielder to the Brittania Stadium, but the 27-year-old has opted to stay in the Premierhsip, despite the limited role he played in the second half of Wigan's first Premiership season.

Francis has two years to run on his current deal, but he may have to look to seal a transfer to another top flight club as he now seems surplus to requirements at the JJB Stadium.

Premiership duo Portsmouth and Watford have been linked with the player.
