Last updated : 31 December 2009 By Paul Farrington

In 2007 he set up the Jason Roberts Foundation to provide opportunities for young people to take part in sporting and cultural activities and to participate in learning programmes enhancing educational achievement.

Roberts has had a good career in football starting his league career with Bristol Rovers before moving to West Bromwich Albion.

It was from West Brom that Roberts hoined the Latics. He went on to make 93 appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals. Perhaps his goal against Arsenal in the Carling Cup Semi-final is the most memorable as it sent the club to it's first ever major cup final.

Roberts has made 22 appearances for his national side Grenada, scoring 12 goals.

More than the success Roberts has endured on the football pitch, his MBE is the due recognition for the charitable work his has performed in relation to the Jason Roberts Foundation.
