The 37 year old goalkeeper has been with the club over five seasons after joining from Blackburn Rovers in 2001 for £600,000.

However, with his contract up in the summer, Filan believes he is ready to leave England and return to Australia, the country of his birth.

Filan said: "My contract is up in the summer and I'm pretty certain I'm going home at the end of the season. If I can help the club get as high up the league as possible, that would be a great finish for me.

"I'm going back to Sydney and I'm negotiating on a house there at the
moment. One of the options is to play over there, but things can change around quickly in football."

Filan has been a terrific servent to the club, and was part of the side that won promotion to the top flight, and also the Championship before that.
