Everton Preview: Players must improve

Last updated : 28 August 2009 By Michael Goodman
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has slammed some of the players who are currently on the books at Wigan for thinking that they are bigger than the manager and his is 100% correct. Some of the players attitudes are shocking and must buck up their ideas if the club are to stay in the division this season.

Holloway believes Roberto Martinez is a top class manager and that he should be given time to turn things around. It will take at least a season for Martinez to get the squad playing the way that he wants and a chance to continue the 'progress' comes around on Sunday.

Everton have had a poor start to their Premier League campaign with defeats to Arsenal and Burnley leaving them bottom of the table. Joleon Lescott has left the club at last after a long few weeks of speculation and transfer bids and now the club can move on from the disrupting summer. Slyvin Distin should be in the Everton line up for Sunday's game along with new Russian signing Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

Key Players for Everton

Tim Cahill - The Australian midfielder is always a goal threat and is strong ands physical in midfield. Known for scoring a few headers and can pull the strings from midfield.

Leon Osman - Has a knack of scoring against Wigan and will have to be watched again. The Billinge born midfielder will want to put on a good performance as always.

WIGANER.net Prediction

If the squad have improved after the two previous games, the team has a chance of a point. Everton want to kick start their season and the fans will be urging them for the 3 points. A tough game where a defeat could be on the cards.
