Ellington still a Wiganer

Paul Jewell had been quoted as saying that the deal was as good as done and that the Duke should join the Baggies shortly.

However the deal must have hit a snag and Ellington could well be in the Latics squad for the Chelsea game on Sunday.

Paul Jewell told the club's official website: "No deal has been done so Nathan (Ellington) is still our player. He'll be training with the rest of the players' tomorrow morning (Saturday 13th August) and he's in contention for the match against Chelsea. There is no reason why I shouldn't play him; he is still a Wigan Athletic player after all."
