Dinning to make happy return?

Thordarson was sacked after making demands to the Stoke City chairman and directors.

"Whilst the board recognise the contribution of Gudjon Thordarson in helping the club to promotion it is felt that the long-term interests of the club will be best served by the appointment of a new manager," a club statement read.

"The working relationship between the board and the current manager is untenable. The manager has not always appreciated the financial constraints within which he has had to work and it is felt by the board that this situation is unlikely to improve especially given the uncertainty regarding future income from TV rights.

"We would like to place on record our thanks to Gudjon for initially bringing the Icelandic investors together and for his contribution to Stoke City FC overall. We wish him well in the future."

As a result the new manager who is likely to take over may not want Tony Dinning to become a perminant fixture around the Potteries and may send him back to the Latics. Leaving us with a £750,000 player, who is not wanted around the place.

The midfield lazy man will surely want to leave the club and will be wanted to leave and so a cut-price fee of as little as £250,000 could be taken!

Another piece of mastermind in the transfer market from the boys in blue!
