Marcus Bent

The Chlarton striker has joined on a season long loan and offers plenty of pace and power to the Latics forward line. The 29 year old forward already has Premiership experience with Blackburn, Ipswich, Leicester, Everton and Charlton.

Supporters have high hopes for Bent who it is believed can fill the boots of now Blackburn striker Jason Roberts. The addition of Bent gives much needed depth to the Latics attacking options.

Boss Chris Huthings told the official site: "It's a great deal. We've got him on loan, which is a convenient arrangement for us. Marcus has played the majority of his career in the top flight, he's been there and done it, and knows how to look after himself at this level.

"He is a clever player who can fulfill a number of roles and whose game is far more than just about scoring. He's lively and brings others into play. He's a street-wise sort of player, who never gives any less than 100% and is one of those lads you want on your side.

"I've always said that I'll only bring in players who I think will add a new dimension to the squad and I think Marcus fits the bill. I'm looking forward to working with him."

Rachid Bouaouzan

The 23 year old Sparta Rotterdam winger is a talented footballer with plenty of pace and should bring exitement and width to the Latics team. Bouaouzan has initially joined on a three year contract for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £500,000.

Speaking of the transfer manager Chris Hutchings said: "I know that he has been chased by several clubs, so I am delighted he has chosen to join us. I think that he has bags of potential and exactly what it takes to be a success in this country. It may take time for him to adjust completely and the most important thing is that he is another good young player who will add competition to the squad.

"He's very quick, has got two good feet and can play on either wing. He has come highly recommended from several sources and as soon as we found out he might be available, we were very keen to get him on board."

OUT

Caleb Folan

Caleb Folan has left the club in a £1 million deal to join Championship side Hull City. The former Chesterfield striker played a big part in the Latics surviving last term and his goal at Eastlands proved priceless.

A cool £500,000 profit in six months is a good bit of business but it was common knowledge that utchings was not gonig to let his player go without a fight.

Hutchings said of the transfer: "We have a lot of good strikers at the moment. I've already had to make one or two really tough decisions in my time at the helm at this club, but one thing you learn very quickly in this game is that there is no room for sentiment.

"Caleb is an absolutely fantastic professional who has never given me anything less than total commitment in training and during matches, and at
the risk of repeating myself, I thought long and hard when the offer came in for him.

"It goes without saying that he goes with all my blessings, and those of everyone at the club, and I sincerely hope he does really well at Hull City."

It is with the best wishes of Wigan supporters that Caleb joins Hull and everyone at WIGANER.net would like to wish him good luck for hte future.

Henri Camara

The forgotten man of Wigan Athletic. Clearly lacking desire to return to his form of our maiden Premiership campaign it is without sadness that the Senegalese forward joins West Ham for the rest of the season on loan.

With the additions of Marcus Bent and Anotine Sibierski the Latics have more options up front, although a fully firing Camara would make the starting line-up.

It is with real sadness that the player leaves as he could have become a real fixture in the team alongside Emile Heskey has he had more desire.
