Deadline Day dealings for the Tics

The first deal of Deadline Day saw goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell make his loan spell at Bristol City permanent after just half a season at Wigan Athletic.

The 27-year old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Ashton Gate with the two clubs agreeing an undisclosed fee for the shot-stopper.

Also, striker Jordy Hiwula was recalled by his parent club Huddersfield Town, cutting his loan deal short.

The 22-year old was due to stay with Wigan until the end of the current campaign, but the Terriers' boss David Wagner activated the January recall clause in the centre forward's contract.

With one loanee leaving, another returned as Ryan Jennings finished his spell with National League side Cheltenham Town.

Latics' one piece of business before the transfer window slammed shut was the loan signing of Everton forward Conor McAleny for the rest of the season.

And finally, Don Cowie, who had his contract at Wigan mutually terminated just last week, has signed for Scottish Premier League side Hearts on an 18-month contract.
