De Zeeuw hopeful of Wigan move

The 35 year old centre back told the Wigan Observer: “I’m going to be talking to Paul [Jewell] today (Tuesday) about coming back to Wigan. The sooner this move happens for me the better.
“Obviously the season kicks-off for Wigan on Sunday, but hopefully it will all be sorted before then. I’ve got a year left on my contract at Portsmouth and they have offered me a one year extension.
“But I want to come back to Wigan and hopefully it will happen. I loved my time at Wigan. It was a hard decision to leave, but coming back now would be the perfect move for me.”
The defender has agreed personal terms and passed his medical. The move is expected to be completed early Thursday morning.
