De Vos ready for Wrexham

ready for action again
De Vos forced the crucial equaliser as Canada came from a goal behind to beat South Korea to third place in the Gold Cup.

Kim Do-Hoon had sent Korea into the lead with a great turn and shot from 25 yards in the 15th minute setting up a shock result against the reigning champions.

But he found the net at the other end after the Maple Leaves hit the crossbar from a well-worked corner routine.

Skipper De Vos headed the rebound across the goalmouth and Do-Hoon buried the ball past his helpless ‘keeper in an attempted headed clearance.

And with Korea still reeling, Canada moved in for the kill to score the winner just one minute later when Jim Brennan sent through Dwayne DeRosario, who fired home from outside the box.

But sadly for De Vos, he would not be lifting the trophy for a second time as USA went on to take the title with a 2-0 final win over Costa Rica.

Now De Vos is hoping to be back in the first team and rtegain his place in time for the Wrexham game on Saturday.
