Cywka: Debut
After the one-month loan deal to Oldham was confirmed, Cywka, who was linked with Bayern Munich, said: "Bayern got in touch with me a few days before I signed with Wigan. I had decided many days before that I wanted to join Wigan. I liked the atmosphere at the club, the lads, the coaches and the manager, so I moved there. I come from a little town near Krakow in the south of Poland, and played in one of the country's best academies. I really enjoyed it.

"I've also played at quite a few levels internationally, which was very exciting. We played some top sides, including Portugal and Spain, which was very good experience. I know Oldham are seventh in the league, and a good team which should be higher. After the first training session, I really like the style of play, so I'm sure everything will work out okay."

While his new manager John Sheridan is happy to have an international amoungst his League One ranks.

Sheridan commented: "He [Cywka] found it difficult initially, which is obviously going to happen when you're only eighteen, but he showed some nice touches. Although the first half wastough for him, I thought he came into the game in the second.

"Tomasz only trained with us for the first time yesterday, so I think he's still getting used to the names etcetera. Obviously he's come from a Premiership club, and football here will be very different from what he's used to when playing for Poland. It's going to be difficult for him, but a good test."

Oldham and Cywka will face Cheltenham Town away on Saturday and surely the first team experience of League One will be a huge benefit to Cywka's development.
