Commons a potential summer target

In recent weeks, Service into the strikers has not been as good as it could have been and as a result, a lack of goals has been a huge problem for the club and if newspaper speculation is to be believed then Steve Bruce will make a move for the former Nottingham Forest midfielder when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.

A bid of £2.5m is being touted as a fee for Commons but whether this is a rumour or a true statement remains unknown. Many names have been linked with a move to the JJB in the summer and with Mido and Amr Zaki only on loan, Antoine Sibierski's contract running out and clubs sniffing around Antonio Valencia, expect to see a fair few new faces at the club come August.

Alongside Commons, Christian Benitez, Hendry Thomas, Djibril Cisse, Michael Kightly, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Vincent Enyeama have all been mentioned to be targets of Bruce. Two names which are real possibilities are Hendry Thomas and Christian Benitez whose futures could well lie at the JJB.
