Clubs agree to winter break

Sven Goran Eriksson the England manager spoke to Premiership managers and chairmen at length yesterday before they voted in favour of a winter break.

As of next for for two seasons, there will be a break of 13 days in January between the 3rd and 4th rounds of the F.A. Cup.

This will benefit the national team because as Mr Eriksson has said, the players will be in a better physical and mental state. It will also aid Enlgish clubs in the latter stages of European compeitition.

The break will also surely deflect attention away from the glorified Premiership and shine some much needed light on the Nationwide, perhaps increasing television time, attendences and of course, revenue.

The Latics may experience this winter break though, this season is far from over as things stand.
