City linked with Jewell

City could well approach the Latics early next week with a view to speaking to Jewell and may try to tempt him to become manager for next season.

It is unlikely that Jewell would move however as he has built something special at the JJB. He is on the verge of taking the team into the Premiership for the first time in the clubs history. And should he get them there, the Latics chief would have money available to keep them there.

A move to Manchester would result in an average Premiership team and very little money to improve it. Shaun Wright-Phillips will probably move in the close season and with debts of £30 million, Manchester City is a club going in the wrong direction.

Many people also believe that the current Latics squad is better than that of Manchester City.

Fowler and Macken up front or Roberts and Ellington? Who would you prefer to work with!
