Wigan Athletic have confirmed that Chris Eagles is on trial at the club.
The 29-year old, once on the books at Manchester United, starts for Latics in the under 21 Premier League Cup tonight; Wigan are away to Eagles' former club Burnley.
He starts alongside two senior squad players in Don Cowie and Grant Holt, who are both gaining match fitness after lengthy spells out.
If Eagles' trial is successful, he will be the sixth ex-Bolton Wanderers player to move to the DW Stadium under Gary Caldwell's guidance as manager.
