Tottenham we're alerted by the situation and have had numerous bids rejected over the summer, as well as West Ham who bid £4million. However it now seems that Chimbonda has decided his short-term future lies at Wigan.
It is believed that Chimbonda will release a statement later today apologising for his behaviour and confirming his change of heart.
However any statement won't be recieved kindly by the fans, as the French world Cup star has said on numerous times that he saw Wigan as just another stepping stone.
Despite the 'change of heart,' Chimbonda will still attempt to seal a 'dream' move to a bigger club in the January transfer market.
For now however, it seems that Chimbonda will continue to play for Wigan, and will now attempt to win over the many fans he has let down.
