Roberts said: "Pascal has been so important to our success so far. I have not seen everyone in the league play but Pascal must be up there as one of the best.
"He is performing every week, doing really well and it's great to hear he's getting the plaudits."
On a personal note, Roberts is hoping to maintain his scoring record against the Gunners. He commented: " I scored against them at Highbury for West Brom and it will be great to do it again."
Whilst Chimbonda himself is raring to face fellow countryman Thierry Henry and believes the Latics can come out of the game on top.
Chimbonda added: "The Premiership has been as tough as I expected and as tough as people told me it would be.
"We've had to work very hard to get the points we've got and every game has thrown up it's own challenges. I'm sure there are even tougher times ahead but we are a team here and we'll face those challenges together."
"We're really looking forward to the game (Arsenal). It's another challenge for us. Going to Portsmouth was a big challenge for us - this game against Arsenal is a massive one as well.
"They've got some world class players, but we're going into the game full of confidence and believing we can win. It is really nice to be in the position we are in and playing hte way we are, but we are mindful that we must keep it up.
"We don't want to have a good three months in the Premiership - we want to have a good season in the Premiership."
