Chimbonda fee agreed

Just yesterday Paul Jewell fired a warning to Tottenham that they would have to pay the going rate for the right back.

He told the Wigan Evening Post: "I don't know what Pascal is thinking, one minute he thinks he is staying, the next he might go.

"If no one comes in with the money for him, he is not going anywhere. It's one thing a club wanting him and another coming up with the money.

"If you see a Rolls Royce in the car park, you can say you want it, but you've got to have the money to pay for it."

Finally, Martin Jol and his team have stumped up the cash, and Chimbonda can now make his move to a "big club".

The fee is said to be around £4 million, rising to £5 million depending on appearances and success at White Hart Lane.

The move is said to have come around after Lee Young-Pyo has completed his transfer to Serie A club AS Roma.

Should Chimbonda join Tottenham, he will have left his previous two club's under somewhat of a cloud.

Bastia fans were angry with Chimbonda before his move to Wigan. He accused the fans there of being racist before switiching to the Premiership. While he has now demanded his exit to further his career.

It is such a shame to see Chimbonda move under such a cloud after a superb season entertaining the Wigan public last season, however, he severed all links with his fellow playing staff when he delivered his transfer request moments after the final whistle at Highbury last term.

Good luck to Pascal as he further's his career in London, thank you for the memories last season.
