Morris has been with the Stamford Bridge club for some time now after coming through the youth ranks, however he learned today that his contract will not be renewed, surely alerting the ears of Paul Jewell and a host of other First Division sides.
He would certainly fit the bill to slot into the Latics team with Jewell stating that any player who will join the club must be under 30 and at 25 Morris would be welcomed.
One stumbling block maybe his wages. It is unclear as to how high his wages are, but he and John Terry have both wanted better deals for some time now, without success.
