Cattermole backs Wigan to bounce back

Midfielder Lee Cattermole has backed Wigan to rediscover their recent good form after back to back defeats for the club, their first successive defeats since the dismal run in October. January was always billed as a tough month for the club with fixtures against 3 of the current top 4.

Trips to Old Trafford, The City of Manchester Stadium and Villa Park along with home ties to Liverpool and Tottenham was never going to be an easy ride but Cattermole believes the squad has the attitude to bounce straight back.

"The attitude from the lads was brilliant and I think if we show attitude like that in all of our games we will be unlucky not to come away with three points," Cattermole told the club's official website.

"We knew we had a tough January. They are big games and for a team like us we can test ourselves.

"You see what people are saying about us at the minute. People are taking notice and respecting the fact they won't have an easy game against us.

"It works both ways because it means teams get more up for it than they would in the past.

"But we would rather get talked about in good ways rather than bad."

With Liverpool and Aston Villa still to come fans will be hoping that another January scalp against Liverpool on home soil this time will stop the rot and give the team momentum leading to the game at Villa Park.
