The 28 year old Senegalese had originally turned down a move to Wigan and sighted the contract on offer as the problem.

He has since had a change of heart however, and will offer the Latics a great deal up front for the forthcoming season.

Paul Jewell told the club's official website: "Henri (Camara) has signed his contact and passed his medical. This is great news for us to get another top quality striker to add to the quality forwards we already have here.

"He's a proven goal scorer and has produced the goods at the highest level. His pace and finishing are two of his biggest assets and he adds something different to what we already have."

The Latics boss also confirmed that he hopes to add at least two more faces ahead of the Chelsea game next Sunday.

"Henri is our sixth signing of the close season and I'm pretty confident at this stage we'll have a couple more in before we kick off against Chelsea."

Whilst Wolves' chief executive Jez Moxey said: "This transfer is good news for all concerned. Wigan have bought a good Premier League striker, Camara has secured a new contract and a permanent home from which to develop his career and we have secured a fair transfer fee."
