Henri Camara: Second chance
Manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he thought Camara had left the club on a permenant basis, but the Senegalese forward still has one year remaining on his Latics deal and has impressed Bruce at pre-season training.

In particular, Bruce is said to be a fan of Camara's following his explosive first season in a Latics shirt, and should Camara be willing to perform, his manager would be more than happy to welcome him back into the fold.

Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "It's a difficult one regards Henri. I have to be honest, I didn't realise he was coming back to us. I thought he had gone.

"But he's part of the squad and I'll sit down with him over the next few weeks to see what his plans are. He got 12 league goals in his first season here which takes some doing in the Premier League, that shows he has something.

"Whatever has happened since, it's gone a bit sour for him. I don't know what went on - it was before I came - maybe he fell out with someone?"

With Marlon King likely to join Hull City over the next few weeks, Camara could well be given another chance with the Latics.

Certainly a player to ignite the club's fortunes if his mind is on the game, a fully firing Camara would be a welcome addition to the club's forward line.
