Camara Keen on New Deal

Wigan had indicated earlier in the summer that they were willing to open talks with Camara over a new improved deal for the pacey striker, but such talks are yet to get underway.

It is thought that Camara, who joined wigan for £3million, has invoked a clause in his contract that enables him to negotiate a new contract if the Latics stayed up, something they did easily.

Despite no talks being held as of yet, Wigan will be looking to tie up the Senegalese hitman to a new longer contract to ward off interest from their Premiership rivals.

Camara was Wigan's top Premiership goalscorer with 12 goals last term, and will be hoping to improve on that this season. If Camara does stay with the Latics this season, it will be the first time he has spent more than one season at one club, since comingto England with Wolves.
