"We're not safe yet - we're edging towards it but we have a bit to do," the Wigan boss has said.
"We've got a nice easy one at Chelsea in a week's time so we're not going around thinking we're safe.
"It was a nice weekend though. We won and the other results went our way.
"Contrast that to a week earlier when we lost at Portsmouth, other teams around us won. That left us scratching our heads again and thinking, 'We're not out of it'.
"There's work to be done yet and we won't be taking our foot off the pedal, that's for sure."
