Bruce backs Heskey for England

Despite his goal on Monday, Heskey has just three goals this term and has suffered a great deal with injury, but Bruce has offered the case that Heskey offers more than goals with his team play amoungst the best you will find.

Bruce said: "I'd have thought with the lack of English centre-forwards, Emile has got to have an outstanding chance. He is the best centre-forward of his type. He has pace and good technique. He is the perfect foil for Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney."

England's next game is on the 28th May when they face the USA in a friendly at Wembley.
