The 27-year-old central defender has moved to the JJB Stadium for an undisclosed six-figure fee and signed a three-year deal.

Breckin is urging his team-mates to repeat their form of the second half of last season to spark a promotion push next term.

Defender Breckin, who signed from Chesterfield on Monday, feels the side will benefit from the experience of last season.

"Obviously, they are a big, strong, good team with good individuals," he said.

"They had a cracking second half to last season and looked like they would make the play-offs, but it wasn't to be.

"Hopefully though, we'll be stronger for next season. We know what's required and we can go for it," he told the club's official website.

Breckin is manager Paul Jewell's second summer signing following the arrival of Barry Town midfielder Mike Flynn.
