Boyce told the Wigan Observer: "We feel like we owe Bolton one. For our own sake we need to beat them because they;re down at the the bottom. We feel like we can beat them.
"It wasn't a nice game to play in at the Reebok. We didn't do ourselves justice. They beat us convincingly and we can't complain.
"Now we're coming off the back of a couple of good results and we've dragged other teams into it and there's going to be five or six teams involved."
Meanwhile, Boyce's partner at centre back did not put it quite so softly, Scharner added: "We want our revenge. It's possible to push Bolton closer to relegation. We can get a big boost against them and we have to look to three points.
"We've done well under Steve Bruce at home - we've lost just two games."
Scharner and Boyce are likely to make up the centre back pairing for the visit of Megson's Bolton who have rested no less than twelve players for their game with Sporting Lisbon tonight.
