And despite lying just two points above the Latics in the table, Allardyce is prepared to ring the changes to his side.
He told BWFC.co.uk: "There has been a tremendous effort from the players and some of them will be rested for Tuesday and some of the players who have not played will be put into the side because they will be physically and mentally better prepared to play against Wigan and hopefully that will continue our progress in all competitions.
"I said it was going to be a big week for us and we are more than half way through it now and we just have to make sure that on Tuesday we are in three cup competitions."
