Baines snubbed by McClaren

Despite impressing greatly this season, including scoring a fantastic free kick against Manchester United, the youth product has not been called up, with Newspaper reports claiming he will have to wait until the friendly against Spain in February for his chance.

Despite Ashley Cole being suspended for England's next Euro qualifier in Israel next year, it seems Steve McClaren will turn to Cole's fellow Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge to fill the position, despite not making an appearance in the league this season.

Baines, who also had a major impact in the Under 21s beating Germany, therefore reaching the Under 21s Euro 2008 competition, will sure to be dissapointed by this snub.

Fellow Wiganer Chris Kirkland however has made the England squad.

Check back for reaction on this pathetic decision.
