The 28 year old is presently out of contract in the summer but the rumour is that an agreement to extend Watson's deal by a further twelve months has been agreed.
The former Crystal Palace midfielder has been with the Latics for five and a half seasons now and has become a real fans' favourite following his FA Cup winning goal last season.
