Preview: Bouaouzan Debut

Last updated : 13 September 2007 By Liam Cooper
Former Fulham skipper Michael Brown will be at the heart of a new look Wigan midfield; after Valencia and Denny Landzaat were both ruled out.

Hutch' is expected to team Brown with Paul Scharner with either David Cotterill or Dutch winger Rachid Bouaouzan taking Valencia's position on the right.

Landzaat meanwhile could be out for a month after damaging his eye socket in the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle.

It has been all change at both Wigan and Fulham throughout the summer. Both have new managers at the helm (albeit, Lawrie Sanchez has been at Fulham longer) and both have changed their teams drastically.

One of the victims of Sanchez's revolution (which has seen him stick to Northern Irish players 'surprisingly') Michael Brown joined Wigan last month and will make his home debut against his former club.

Yet whilst Hutch has had a solid start to his first campaign as gaffer, - two wins, two defeats and a draw - Sanchez has not enjoyed as positive a start.

Just one victory from five games - a 2-1 victory over struggling Bolton - has left Fulham in the bottom six. They have also conceded ten goals, meaning new England recruit Emile Heskey will be hoping to add to his one goal so far this season.

Recalled Swedish defender Andreas Granvqist, a revelation this season, and Welsh mystro Jason Koumas are expected to be fit despite injuries with their national side.

One to Watch

Northern Ireland's 'Michael Owen' David Healy arrived on the Premiership scene with two goals in his first two games, and looks to be Fulhams major attacking threat.

My Prediction

Wigan to keep their 100% home record.

Latics 2 Cottagers 1 (Heskey 2)
