Good news on injury front

The Latics boss doesn't want to rush the duo back but he knows they play an important part in his first eleven.

The bad news is regarding Henri Camara who's injury seems more serious than first thought. He is set to sit out until the Middlesbrough game, a month from now.

Jewell told the club's official website: "Kav (Graham Kavanagh) is back in full training and it fit. I'm sure he'll be involved in some capacity this weekend.

"Lee McCulloch has a chance, but we have to be more cautious with him for the time being. He has been training hard with the physio for the past couple of weeks and he's raring to go. He deserves great credit for the effort and commitment he's shown in getting back to match fitness.

"Emerson Thome and John Filan are still long-term problems, but Henri Camara is one we are watching on a day-by-day basis. He has absolutely no chance for Saturday against Sunderland and as we stand I would say he wouldn't play against West Brom either. We've pencilled him in for a return against Middlesbrough but it's a situation that will develop and monitor."

Meanwhile tickets for the game on saturday are selling very well. More than 17,000 tickets have been sold already and club spokesman Matt McCann said: "Once again the response from the fans has been knock out.

"To follow up our record crowd at home to Chelsea with another huge home following speaks volumes for the commitment of the people of Wigan to following this Premiership dream. Every home seat was sold out for the opening day of the season.

"Against Sunderland we've increased massively on the number of home fans who came for the same fixture last season and when you consider that match was billed as a potential promotion decider it just shows the interest in Wigan Athletic continues to grow and grow.

"I hope supporters realise they can't just turn up and pay at the turnstile anymore. We've stressed in the local press that there is a cut off point of 1pm on the match day for this game and we don't want people missing out."
