Arjan De Zeeuw introduces Frank Lampard to Sunday's game
The 35 year old defender was inspirational against Chelsea at the weekend and is warning the rest of the squad that they must perform the same way against Charlton if they are to get anything.

De Zeeuw said: "Obviously losing to Chelsea in the way did hurt a lot, but it was amazing how quickly we picked ourselves back up. The next morning at training the lads were buzzing again and all the talk was of going to Charlton.

"No one was feeling sorry for themselves and no one was moaning about how unlucky we'd been. At this level you can't afford to dwell on the bad moments or overly celebrate the good ones.

"The Premiership moves so quickly and is so brutal you have to focus quickly on the next challenge and for us that challenge is Charlton on Saturday. I for one can't wait to get out there and play again and I know the rest of the lads feel the same.

"I have so much time for Alan Curbishley and the job he's done at The Valley. They play good football and have great attitudes, when I was at Portsmouth you always knew you were up against it when facing Charlton.

"I think they've recruited well also during the close season and they are stronger this time. However, we won't fear playing them and won't go into the game looking to be negative.

"We showed against Chelsea being positive in your approach to the game has it's own rewards and I think we'll carry that into every game. Paul Jewell is not a manager who lets his team take a backwards step."

Whilst new boy Josip Skoko is expected to get international clearance in time for the game and he is hopnig to force his way into the first eleven.

The Australian international said: "It was important for me to get into the Premier League. You can play for as long as you want in Turkey but it won't get you the profile or the exposure that comes with playing in England.

"I hope to make the team because I didn't go there to sit on the bench. I was at training while they were playing Chelsea so I was only able to catch the last half hour of their game.

"They were a bit unlucky. It was heartbreaking to concede a last-minute goal like that."
